About the Small Group on the Run

Run the Good Race, a Small Group on the Run!
I started this group on March 8, 2010. The purpose of the group was to combine the passion of running and the passion to running closer to God in our spiritual life.

A race is similar to our walk with Christ. At times we run in a big group but little by little we run all by our selves and we are easily discourage. The key is to maintain our discipline, perseverance while building up our endurance. Friends and family support us but sometimes strangers are the only ones cheering us on the side of the street. They look at us with admiration and with respect because they can see that the runners are giving the race all they have got. Their suffering and hardship is visible in their body language, yet because the runners push themselves the by standers cheer the more.

The apostle Paul was familiar with the Greek and Roman runners of the time. He was familiar with the discipline and commitment that these runners submitted to. It was a sacrificial profession.
Same is with our Spiritual run, we must dedicate ourselves submitting to God and commit all we do in His name to succeed.

Hebrew 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

If you live in the Miami-Dade area, send me an email with the subject Request Running Group info and I will email you the running schedule. We need to learn to walk before we learn to run, therefore beginners and walkers are welcome.
Ultimately I run to honor my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If all that I do is absent of Jesus, then it is all in vain.  That is not my goal is. My goal is to hold on to the word of God; trust the Holy Spirit so that I can live a life that reflects my walk with Christ who leads me to God the Father.
Philippians 2:15-16 describe my goal:
Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.

God bless you,
